Family Campfire Night on Friday, October 10

Smores

Bring out your camp chairs and marshmallow sticks and take your whole family out for a fun evening of hiking, campfire songs, stories and s’mores with Family Campfire Night, happening on Friday, October 10 at 2600 South Park Boulevard in Shaker Heights. The event kicks off at 6:30pm and will go on up to 8:30pm. Admission costs $5 per person, with a $25 maximum per family up to six people. Refreshments and s’mores ingredients will be provided!

To get you in the mood for this fun outdoor family event, here are a few creative ways to make perfect, mouth-watering s’mores:

Coned: This fun take on s’mores is courtesy of Bree Hester, who believes that “s’mores are great, but campfire cones are better.” Instead of using classic graham crackers, try using sugar ice cream cones, stuff them with chocolate and marshmallows, tightly wrap in foil and place them on a fire pit grill for a few minutes. You can even take it further by adding toppings like chocolate chips, sprinkles, chopped nuts, or whatever your imagination can come up with. Go nuts!

If you’d rather stick to the tried and tested formula of graham crackers, chocolate and mallows but still want to get a little creative, try swapping out the traditional chocolate bar for a peanut butter cup, fruit and nut, Nestle Crunch, or other flavors.
