The Cedar Lee Theatre in Cleveland Heights will celebrate 25 years of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” with midnight screenings on Saturdays, September 14, 21 and 28. The musical comedy horror movie has enjoyed the longest continuously running theatrical release in film history, running nonstop since 1975. The theatre, which is located at 2163 Lee Road in Cleveland Heights, first screened the film on September 17, 1988.

Avid fans of the movie know that arguably the best part of the film is how the audience participates during the screenings. It has become customary for audience members to attend screenings wearing costumes and bringing props such as water guns, Scott brand toilet paper and playing cards. In some theatres, almost all the audience members get up and dance along with the cast on screen during the song “Time Warp.”

Showings at the Cedar Lee Theatre will include a live floorshow presented by Simply His Servants, the local “Rocky Horror” cast. Tickets cost $9, with a $3 discount if you come in costume. For more information on this event, please visit clevelandcinemas.com.
