Deciding Between Two Houses

Choices

Depending on the current market, it may be hard for you to find even just one home you’re interested in purchasing. But what happens when you find yourself in a unique situation where you’ve fallen in love with not one, but two different homes? Here are a few things to consider to help you decide between your two choices:

1. Neighborhood. If the two homes you’re interested in are in different neighborhoods, list down the pros and cons of each neighborhood. Be sure to take into consideration your family’s wants and needs. For example, if you have children, you may want to consider choosing a home that has a nearby park or playground, or that is located close to a good school.

2. Safety is of course extremely important, so you may want to compare the crime rates of the areas each home is in, to help you choose the home that is located in a safer neighborhood or community.

3. Accesibility. Which of the two homes is located closer to your office or to school? Are they both situated near a hospital, shopping, dining and other essential services? Consider accessibility and location when deciding where you want to live, as buying a house that requires you to commute long distances just to get to work or to the supermarket may prove to be a huge inconvenience in the future.

4. Compare the houses themselves. When you first started looking for a home, you probably had a “wishlist” of features and amenities that you wanted your future home to have. Refer back to this list and see which of your two choices comes closer to the description of your ideal home.
