Our Lady of the Wayside’s 15th annual Grapes & Ale benefit will take place on Friday, June 27 at 7pm at Progressive Field in downtown Cleveland. Restaurants, bakeries and other food-service organizations such as Becker’s Bakery, Corleone’s, Famous Dave’s, Hot Sauce Williams, 100th Bomb Group, The Wayside Grille and Y.O.L.O. Battery Park Wine Bar will serve barbecue and other savories as well as sides and sweets throughout the evening. Major sponsor Giant Eagle is helping to provide more than 200 wine samplings from vintners including Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, Chloe Wine Collection, William Hill Estates Winery and Skinny Girl will be poured.

Samples of beers and craft brews from Blue Moon, Goose Island, Great Lakes Brewing Company, Leinenkugel’s, Magic Hat, Pyramid Breweries and Samuel Adams will also be available to sample at 50 cents per pour.

In addition to raffles and silent auction prices, live acoustic entertainment will be provided by Colin Dussault’s Side Project, featuring Jim Tigue and Eroc Sosinski. Hosts for the 2014 event include WKNR’s Mark Bishop; Q104’s Average Joe; WMJI’s Chip Kulik, and honorary host John Laningan.

The $50 admission makes “The Hottest Barbecue of the Summer” one of the most accessibly priced fund-raisers in Northeast Ohio — while supporting the outreach efforts of Our Lady of the Wayside, which for nearly 50 years has helped provide developmentally challenged adults and children with homes, training and other forms of vital assistance.
