The 15th annual Taste of the Browns event will take place on Monday, September 9 at FirstEnergy Stadium. Chef Rocco Whalen, owner of Fahrenheit restaurant in Cleveland and Rosie and Rocco’s restaurants, says this year’s event is going to be a big one and that “each year it’s gotten better and better.”
The yearly event is an opportunity for guests to meet Cleveland Browns team members while sampling delicious food prepared by some of the best chefs in the area. It is also a fundraising activity, with proceeds from ticket sales going towards the Cleveland Foodbank. Chef Whalen says it’s also the chance for local chefs to participate in a good cause while supporting their city and home team at the same time.
He says, “It’s probably the best possible way we can show people what we do, while helping the people who really need it.”
Last year’s Taste of the Browns event raised over $140,000 for the local outreach program. This year, organizers hope to raise at least that much or more. These funds will help the Foodbank distribute meals to less fortunate individuals, as well as providing food and household essentials to various local food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters.
The event will take place from 6 to 9pm on September 9. General admission tickets cost $175 ($75 of which is tax-deductible) while VIP tickets cost $250 ($150 of which is tax-deductible.) For more information on this event, please visit cleveland.com/tasteofthebrowns.
