The 37th annual Cleveland International Film Festival will take place from Wednesday, April 3 to Sunday, April 14 this year at the Tower City Cinemas. With more than 178 feature films and over 164 short films scheduled to show, everyone is sure to find something to suit their taste.
The Cleveland International Film Festival aims to promote artistically and culturally significant film arts through education and exhibition to enrich the life of the community. For the past 37 years, it has presented the best and newest films from all over the world. Films are selected with the goal in mind to allow audiences to learn something while viewing, whether it is something new about different cultures, important topics, current events or the filmmakers’ experiences.
Interesting films to look out for this year include “180 Seconds,” a film from Colombia about two hacker siblings who plan a major heist on the day of Colombia’s World Cup qualifying match with Uruguay, “7 Boxes,” a film from Paraguay about a young delivery boy who dreams of becoming a famous movie star, “99%,” a film from the United States that takes a closer look at the Occupy Movement that began in September 2011 and many, many more.
Tickets to the Film Festival are now on sale. For more information on the films, schedules and ticket prices, please visit www.clevelandfilm.org.
