The 7th National Hamburger Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday, August 17 and 18 at Lock 3 Park in Downtown Akron. Besides being a fun summer event featuring games, activities and of course, thousands of hamburgers, the festival also serves as a fundraiser. Proceeds from the event benefit one of Akron’s favorite charities, the Akron Children’s Hospital.
This year’s entertainment will feature live music by local bands including John Mosey, Zack & The Bright Lights and The Low Country. Dennis “The Quizmaster” George will also be on hand to stump the audience with his unique traveling game show. Activities include a National Hamburger Festival Queen pageant, hamburger eating contests, a dance-off, and lots of games and activities for kids of all ages.
Of course, the main highlight of the event would have to be the good old hamburger. More than 20 different area restaurants are expected to participate, giving visitors plenty of mouth-watering varieties of juicy burgers to choose from.
Hours are from 12 to 11pm on Saturday and from 12 to 7pm on Sunday. Tickets cost $5 with children under 48″ getting in free. Lock 3 Park is located at 200 S. Main St. in Akron, Ohio. For more information, please visit http://www.hamburgerfestival.com/.
