The ninth annual Child Safe Community Day Fair will take place on Sunday, March 24 at the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center in Strongsville from 1 to 4pm. This yearly initiative by local residents aims to increase child safety awareness.
Activities in the event include talks and safety demonstrations by local law enforcement authorities, as well as information from the Northern Ohio Poison Control Center & Fire Department. A representative from RB&C Injury prevention and several other organizations will also present on topics such as crimes against children and home safety.
Visitors to the event can expect to witness a stranger danger program by Master Jeff Ellis and a martial arts demonstration by Jeff Ellis’ International Karate Centers. New to this year’s fair is the Bully Proofing Your Child program, offered for children in Grades 3 through 6.
MetroHealth Medical Center will also take part in the event by being on hand with medical and safety demonstrations and all children who attend will receive free child identification kits.
This event is free to the public and will include an Easter egg hunt, face painting, ice cream eating contest, games and other fun activities for kids. The Ehrnfelt Recreation Center is located at 18100 Royalton Road in Strongsville.
