African Elephant Crossing at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

Capture

Learn all about African elephants at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Family Discoveries program African Elephant Crossing on Thursday, August 28 from 9 to 10:30AM. Hands-on activities, guided tours and a behind-the-scenes tour will all be part of the program, as well as, of course, an animal encounter with the Zoo’s resident pachyderms. Children and adults alike will enjoy learning all about these giant creatures together and what life is like for them in the wild and at the Zoo. For instance, did you know that African elephants can weigh up to 13,000 pounds? Or that unlike Asian elephants, both male and female African elephants have tusks. Besides getting up close and personal with the elephants, visitors may also enjoy meeting other smaller African animals as well.

Tickets to Family Discoveries African Elephant Crossing cost $15 per person for non-members and $10 per person for Zoo members. This fee includes admission to the Zoo and the RainForest. Walk-ups will not be accommodated, so interested parties are required to register in advance.

Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is located at 3900 Wildlife Way in Cleveland. The Zoo’s front gate will serve as meeting place for the program. For more information, please visit www.clevelandmetroparks.com.
