The annual Maple Sugar Festival presented by Bob Evans Restaurants will take place on Saturdays March 16 and 23 and Sundays March 17 and 24 at Hale Farm & Village located at 2686 Oak Hill Road in Bath. Visitors can expect to enjoy a pancake breakfast in the morning, and then spend the day learning about the ancient process of maple sugar production.
Producing maple sugar is a long time tradition in the Cuyahoga Valley, which started with the American Indians who lived in the area before the time of Jonathan Hale.
Other activities include discovering the different maple sugar production methods at the Sugar Camp, making maple candy and building a log cabin. Visitors may also enjoy the Hale Farm & Village craft and trade demonstrations, which include pottery, spinning, weaving, glassblowing and blacksmithing.
The Maple Sugar Festival will take place from 10am to 4pm on each of the four dates mentioned above. Pancakes will be served until 3pm. Tickets range from $5 to $15, and include breakfast courtesy of Bob Evans Restaurants and all activities. No reservations are necessary.
