Berea Style Studio and Spa is inviting members of the community to donate food and groceries for the needy on Saturday, November 12.
Salon owner Sally Herman encourages residents to bring nonperishable items and frozen turkeys to fill a truck that will be parked in front of the salon at the corner of Beech and Church streets. The truck will be there from 10am to 2pm. The items will be donated to SCAN Hunger Food Pantry in Berea, which also serves Brook Park, Middleburg Heights, Olmsted Falls, Strongsville and Columbia Township. Last year, several articles came out saying that the number of people who rely on the Food Pantry to get decent square meals has risen in the past few years.
According to Herman, charitable citizens who donate either a whole bag of groceries or a frozen turkey will receive a Berea t-shirt so long as supplies last.
