The seventh and eighth graders of Roehm Middle School in Berea will be sponsoring a 5k run and 1 mile walk on Saturday, May 5.
The event, entitled the “Dash for Dignity” is a community event that will raise money for future runs, anti-bullying programs and the Eleonore Rocks Foundation, an organization that donates rockers and parking money for families with babies who are terminally ill aand in hospitals’ neonatal intensive care units.
Bullying in schools has become a widespread problem all over the United States, and the issue has gained a lot of attention especially in recent months since the release of a new documentary called “Bully,” which takes a closer look at what happens in the daily lives of victims of bullying.
On the other hand, the Eleonore Rocks Foundation is a local organization that aims to make a positive difference in the lives of sick children and their parents. Their website is http://www.eleonorerocks.org.
The race to raise money for these two worthy causes begins on May 5 at 9:30am. Race day registration takes place from 8:15 to 9:15am.
