Blossom Hill, Inc. moves from Brecksville to North Royalton

Residents of Haven Hill Home will soon call North Royalton home after nearly 30 years in Brecksville.

Residents of the long-term care home for mentally and physically disabled adults will be moving to two new, million-dollar homes on a 6.5-acre lot on Abbey Road in North Royalton in November.

Blossom Hill, Inc. broke ground on the new homes in a ceremony attended by around 50 people.

Lynne Urbanski, executive director of Blossom Hill, Inc. said, “In many ways, it’s continuing the legacy of our forefathers.”

Blossom Hill has operated the two-story Haven Hill Home on rented property from the city of Brecksville since 1983. An additional home is located in Westlake.

Steve Zuponic, president of the Blossom Hill Board of Directors, said residents have been having difficulty climbing the stairs at Haven Hill to their bedrooms as they have gotten older. The dilemma left the organization with two options, either to renovate the existing property or build their own.

Zuponic said, “The more we got into plans for renovation, the more we realized that wasn’t what our residents needed. We’ve worked it out with Brecksville to end our lease once these homes open and we move out of Haven Hill.”
