City of Berea sponsors hazardous waste drop off

The city of Berea will be sponsoring a hazardous waste drop off on Wednesday, October 3 and Thursday, October 4 at the city service garage located at 400 Barrett Road.

The collections are free and for residents only. Residents may drop off their hazardous waste between 8am to 2pm on both days, and must show photo identification. Items from businesses will not be accepted.

Household items which will be accepted include oil and solvent-based paint, primers, liquid or aerosol coatings, varnishes, polyurethanes, shellacs, paint thinner, mineral spirits, turpentine, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, caustic household chemicals, pool chemicals, automotive fluids, motor oil, batteries, adhesives, roof tar, driveway sealer, kerosene, gasoline, lighter fluid and mercury fluorescent bulbs.

Items that will not be accepted include tires, latex paint, explosives, gun powder, ammunition, flares, medical waste, pharmaceuticals, medicine, smoke detectors, electronics or appliances of any type.
