Last week, we wrote about the St. Paul Grecian Festival in North Royalton. This weekend, why not drop by the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds to celebrate the Cleveland Irish Cultural Festival?
Now on its 29th year, the event aims to showcase–and in the process preserve–the many traditions of the Irish through the various activities it offers during the festival. Founded by John O’Brien Sr. in 1982, the event presents tradition, music, literature, art and food characteristic of the Irish.
This year, the festival is set for July 22 to 24 at the Fairgrounds. The hours are from 4:30pm to midnight on Friday, 1pm to midnight on Saturday, and 1pm to 10:30pm on Sunday. General admission is $10, while children aged 10 and under can get in for free. Parking, the Tir Na Nog children’s area, petting zoo and pony rides are also free of charge. Attractions include 24 performers on nine stages, a vast number of exhibits, and numerous kiosks representing vendors from all across the United States.
The Cleveland Irish Cultural Festival is a non profit, annual civic event, and benefits local and national charities while showcasing the many aspects of Irish culture.
