Creative Movement Center fundraiser in Broadview Heights

A fundraiser is being held on Sunday, April 29 by the Creative Movement Center in Broadview Heights for one of its students. The event is from 1 to 3pm in the Broadview Heights Community Building located at 9543 Broadview Road.

The fundraiser is in support of Jacob Washabaugh, a junior at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School, who was accepted to attend Idyllwild Arts Academy for the 2012-2012 school year. The latter is a boarding school for the arts in California. Proceeds from the event will help Jacob’s family pay for some of his tuition and help get him out to California.

According to Creative Movement Center director Hayley Weiss, Jacob has natural talent and “has what it takes to make it (as an artist.)” Jacob has been a student at CMC since he was 15.

The event on Sunday will include performances by CMC dancers, a solo by Washabaugh fitness demonstrations, line dancing and other activities. Pizza, beverages and snacks will be provided. The cost to attend the fundraiser is $20 per person.
