This year’s Cuyahoga County Fair will take place from August 6 to 12 at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds located at 164 Eastland Road in Berea.
Things have changed a lot since the first Berea Fair was held in the 19th century. Back then, the fair was held in the fall because that was when farmers had their crops in and had more time to take their families to see new farm machinery, which was the main attraction in those times.
Today, visitors can expect to see a much wider range of attractions, from a whole lot of food to games, amusement rides, dancing, live music, motor sports, and even highly entertaining pig races.
The Fair kicks off on Monday, August 6 at 5pm with a full schedule of activities, events and displays including a Wind Turbine & Energy Education Center, Cowboy Hat Display, Antique Tractor Display, Chainsaw Wood Carvers and a Miniature Horse Exhibit. Juggler and unicyclist Wade Henry and Jeff Cavello’s Steel Drum & Piano will be on hand to provide entertainment.
Other attractions to look out for throughout the duration of the fair include the Kachunga & the Alligator Show, where a real American Bushman dares to interact one on one with an alligator; the Mac and the Big Cheese Ultimate Outdoor Cooking Show which combines live stand-up comedy with instructional cooking; the Buckeye Pedal Tractor Pull where kids ages 3-11 can compete against kids their own age; and the First Bite Fishing Tanks, where children can learn how to fish.
