Five minutes within Berea’s northwest quadrant lies Frostville, where every Saturday, fresh and delicious local produce is available for the picking.
Held at the Frostville Museum each Saturday from 9am to 1pm, the Frostville Farmer’s Market runs through until October. All vendors at the market grow and/or produce their own goods withing a 75 mile radius from the area.
The market is committed to creating a new awareness for the future of the local food community, while at the same time preserving traditional values about food. As they do their best to strengthen the connection between the earth and the dinner table, regional farmers, skilled artisans and local chefs combine their talents to showcase their products.
Market Manager Rae Endreola describes her vision for a “vibrant marketplace” where vendors and consumers can gather and make “responsible choices” for a healthy local food environment.
“The Frostville Museum is the perfect locaation for families to interact with the farmers and other passionate people to appreciate first hand the importance of food, land and community preservation for the health of our planet,” she said.
Endreola designs and produces food and agricultural programs for the Cleveland Metroparks.
Frostville is located at the bottom of Cedar Point Hill on Lewis Road in the Cleveland Metroparks’ Rocky River Reservation.
