Fashion Week Cleveland kicks off tonight with a “Retail’s Night Out” hosted at Tower City Center with “cash mobs,” wine-and-cheese parties and shopping. The event is from 8 to 10pm.
Tomorrow, there will be an Alpaca initiative. Alpacas are new to the runways of Fashion Week Cleveland this year, and this event was designed to raise awareness about Ohio’s steadily growing alpaca garment industry. The event is coordinated by Nora Custer of Custer’s Alpaca Farm in Atwater, and will feature an alpaca parade, displays and pop-up boutiques across the city.
Fashion Week Cleveland wraps up on Saturday, May 12 with a runway event and black-tie gala. Ten local designers will present their collections from 8 to 11pm at the Halle Building located at 1212 Huron Road East in downtown Cleveland. The event will include live music, trunk shows, vendor displays, VIP appetizers and a cash bar. Tickets are $100 for VIP and $40 for general admission.
In between these three events will be a documentary, live music, food trucks and wearable art.
Ernest E. Brown, executive artistic director for Fashion Week Cleveland, said, “I’m so excited about all of (the events), and I don’t just say that because I’m a part of it. One is not necessarily larger than the other; they all hit different levels of my excitement meter.”
With so many exciting events and activities to look forward to this weekend, fashion-savvy Clevelanders are sure to find something that will appeal to them.
