The Cleveland leg of the Great Amazing Race for youths and adults is happening on Saturday, November 12. The race will kick off at 1pm at the Brecksville Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks on Ohio 82 in Brecksville.
The race is patterned after the popular television show “The Amazing Race,” and it is a family event that supports First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move and the NFL’S Play 60 initiatives.
Teams of two must be formed, with either one or both members of school age, grades K-12. Only 50 teams will be accommodated in each race, so participants are encouraged to register early. Teams will race around a one-mile cross-country course while completing activities along the way. They will race against the clock and other teams while completing challenges including games, relays and obstacle courses.
The layout of the course will be spectator-friendly, so family members and friends are encouraged to cheer on the competitors.
