Everyone knows about Halloween, but have you ever heard of an event called Halfoween? Apparently it is a celebration held halfway October 31st on the last Saturday in April (April 27th.) That, and it’s really just an excuse to dress up in costumes and go party.
Started by a group of committed partyers determined to begin a fun new tradition for like-minded Clevelanders, Halfoween is a three bar crawl held in Downtown Cleveland’s Historic Warehouse District. This year, the event is being sponsored by Southern Wine and Spirits, with assistance from bars The Blind Pig, Gillespie’s Map Room and Bob Golic’s Sports Bar and Grille.
Drink specials will be given to those who come in costume, while prizes will also be given out for the best costumes, with categories such as Mr. Halfoween, Mrs. Halfoween, Most Popular and Best Group.
The event is open to the public and free of charge. The itinerary for the bar crawl is Gillespie’s Map Room (located at 1281 West 9th St.) from 8 to 10pm, Bob Golic’s Sports Bar and Grille (located at 1213 6th St.) from 10 to 11:30pm and The Blind Pig (located at 1228 West 6th St.) from 11:30pm onwards. The costume contest will be held at Bob Golic’s Sports Bar and Grille.
