For several years now Cleveland has enjoyed a good reputation as a successful food city. Probably because of this, the Fox Network’s hit culinary reality competition MasterChef is coming to town for the second year in a row to audition Northeast Ohio aspiring chefs for the series’ fourth season.
An open casting call will be held on Saturday, October 27. The exact times and location have not been announced yet, but the advanced warning serves to give ample time for hopeful contestants to start practicing in the kitchen. According to the official website of MasterChef, an extensive online pre-registration application is also “strongly encouraged.”
Aspiring chefs must be age 18 or over, a U.S. citizen, and must never have worked as a professional chef, nor can their income be derived from preparation of food in any professional environment.
Wannabe contestants who plan to attend the open casting call must bring a completed copy of their registration, a professional photograph and a sample of a prepared dish that best represents their cooking style. Contestants make also create a video and upload it to the show’s website in case they are unable to attend the casting call. Lastly, those who are unable to attend or upload a video may mail their printed application, photo and video to MasterChef Season 4 Casting, 1741 Ivar Ave., Los Angeles, CA, 90028.
