Ingenuityfest hosts 1920's benefit soiree Speakeasy 2.0 this Friday

Ingenuityfest is a weekend long celebration of art and technology, designed for a diverse audience and staged annually in Downtown Cleveland.

Not only is it one of the Cleveland area’s newest and most successful events, Ingenuity is also one of the most unique. It taps into Cleveland’s rich engineering, bio-medical and high tech resources coupled with its creative energy in design, music, theater and dance and puts it all together into one great celebration.

This weekend, Ingenuity will host its popular fundraiser Speakeasy 2.0. The event will take place on Friday, July 15 in the West Side tunnels and subway level of the Veterans Memorial (Detroit-Superior) Bridge.

This year’s benefit bash will double as a 1920s soiree complete with vaudeville and burlesque performers and jazz and swing bands. Featured performances include Vance Studio’s Syncopated Sin Swing Jazz Band, neo-vaudeville duo Pinch and Squal and the Hilar-A-Tease Dancers.

Speakeasy 2.0 will offer three different prices for admission. The event begins with dinner at 6pm, featuring an open bar with live music, entertainment and dancing. Tickets for this part of the evening cost $100 and include admission to the party until 1am.

The event continues with more live entertainment and gourmet snacks at 8pm. Admission for this part of the evening costs $40 and includes two drink tickets. Lastly, at 10pm vaudeville entertainment will be mixed with DJs and dancing; admission includes two beer tickets and costs $20.

All proceeds will go to benefit Ingenuityfest 2011, a free event open to the public, to be held from September 15 to 17 at the bridge.
