The Interior Design Showcase at the Cleveland Botanical Garden is happening now and will run through Sunday, May 13. The showcase is just one of a series of spring events organized by the garden, including the Spring Blooms flowering bulbs show, the African Violet & Gesneriad Show and the Floral Design Show.
For the Interior Design Showcase, 10 local designers were asked to decorate spaces inside the garden’s main building to represent rooms in a home. The challenge was to create designs inspired by some element of plant life. Upscale art, swanky fabrics and fabulous furniture were all used to make the garden’s main building look worthy of an interior design magazine.
Participating designers include Travis Abbott of Travis Abbott of Travis Interior in Lakewood; Jorge Castillo of Jorge Castillo Design Inc. in Cleveland; Charles Phillips of Charles Phillips Beautiful Flowers in Cleveland; Thomas Randleman of Design Consultants Ltd. in Cleveland; Donald Bingham Schmitt of Donald Bingham Schmitt in Cleveland Heights; Mitchell Sotka of Mitchell Sotka Ltd. in Rocky River; Carol M. Wellman of Carol M. Wellman Interiors in Beachwood; and Deborah Smith of Abrash Gallerie of Cleveland Heights.
Hours are 10am to 5pm Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 10am to 9pm Wednesday, noon to 5pm Sunday and closed on Monday. Admission is $9.50 for adults, $4 for children aged 3 to 12, and free for members and children under 3.
The Cleveland Botanical Garden is located at 11030 East Blvd. in Cleveland.
