An event marking the start of National Ice Cream Month will be held this weekend from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday at Lake Farmpark in Kirtland. The event, entitled Lake Metroparks’ Ice Cream Weekend is sponsored by Pierre’s Ice Cream Co. of Cleveland.
Eventgoers can try their hand at making ice cream, enjoy an old-fashioned ice cream social, watch as cows are milked, or even test their own skills at milking a cow! Other activities include old fashioned games, a live barbershop quartet and guitar music, kids crafts, pony rides and a demonstration on how to make Gelato.
Admission is $6 for ages 12-59, $5 for ages 60 and above, $4 for ages 2-11, and free for children younger than 2 and Farmpark members. Sundaes at the ice cream social cost $1 to support Farmpark education programs and pony rides are $4 each.
