After six grueling semifinal rounds and several tense weeks of suspense, the band lineup for the Tri-C High School Rock Off’s Final Exam is finally complete. The top 18 high school bands that will be competing for first prize are as follows:
Evolution, Funky McMunky, Halfway House, Lack of Focus, Lethal Synergy, Lumpia, Meridian, Noize from the Basement, Pipe Dream, Pluto Reinstatement Committee, Scorch Muffins, Techn!color, The Lake Effect, Three’s Company, Triple B-Funk, Two Days Until Tomorrow, Velocity and Where Forever Dies.
These bands, whose music ranges from jazz and blues to ska and progressive rock, will compete on Saturday, February 9 at Cleveland’s House of Blues, located at 308 Euclid Avenue. Doors open at 3pm, with the showing kicking off at 4pm. Tickets cost $10 and will only be available from participating bands.
The bands are competing to win the top prize of $1,000 cash and $200 for their high school’s music program. They will also win the chance to appear as an opening act for an upcoming Live Nation or House of Blues concert, as well as an appearance on Tri-C’s cable television show, “Crooked River Groove.”
