Little Italy’s annual Feast of the Assumption will take place from August 15 to 18 at Mayfield and Murray Hill roads in Cleveland’s Little Italy neighborhood. For those who have never attended a Feast before, it’s an opportunity to witness a very important event in the Italian culture. Visitors can expect to experience a great mix of religious observance, street carnival, and art fair and of course, loads of delicious and authentic Italian food.
The Parish of Holy Rosary in Little Italy has hosted the celebration for the past 113 years. The Feast begins with a solemn Mass at the Church at 10am on the first day, followed by a procession of the statue of the Blessed Virgin throughout the neighborhood.
During all four days of the festival, booths featuring food and arts and crafts are set up in the Churchyard. Live music, entertainment and rides for young children are also available. Visitors can also take part in a raffle and watch a beautiful fireworks display on the last evening.
The Holy Rosary Catholic Church is located at 12021 Mayfield Road in Cleveland. For a complete schedule of events for this year’s Feast, please visit www.holy-rosary.org.
