The Marines are in town for a week of ceremonies, interactive demonstrations and community work, culminating with a staged combat exercise to be held at Burke Lakefront Airport on Saturday and Sunday.
Their visit will give Clevelanders the chance to experience over 200 years of military tradition, and to learn more about the Marines, what they do, and what it means to be part of their elite group.
Here is a rundown of Marine Week exhibits and events to check out this weekend:
State of the art ground vehicles, aircraft, weaponry and other equipment displays can be viewed on Saturday from 8am to 8pm and Sunday from 8am to 6pm at Public Square, Gateway Plaza, Voinovich Park and outside the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Meanwhile, the Vietnam Wall Replica, Ohio Flags of Honor, and Marine Honor Guard can be seen at Voinovich Park on Saturday and Sunday at the same times as written above.
Witness the Science and Technology Expo outside the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum on Saturday and Sunday, and see the simulated firing range, state of the art weaponry, and impressive robotic equipment.
A Martial Arts Demonstration will be held at Public Square on Saturday from 9am to 10am and at Burke Lakefront Airport on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to noon.
Lastly, watch the Military Working Dog Demonstration at Public Square on Saturday from 10am to 11am, and at Burke Lakefront Airport on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 1pm.
