Matthew Bourne, one of the most successful dance choreographers in the world, and his company New Adventures, are bringing their lavish and spectacular productions of Sleeping Beauty to PlayhouseSquare. Marking a successful return to the music of Tchaikovsky with a haunting new scenario of the gothic tale for ages, Bourne and company turn the traditional story of good vs. evil upside down, and morph it into a supernatural love story.
The show is part of the KeyBank Broadway Series and will run through Sunday, October 13 at the Palace Theatre at PlayhouseSquare. Each show runs for 2 hours and 10 minutes including intermission, and ticket prices range from $10 to $75.
A five time Olivier Award winner, Matthew Bourne is also the only British artist to have won a Tony Award for both Best Direction of a Musical and Best Choreography. His works include critically acclaimed contemporary dance and musical theatre productions of Swan Lake, Edward Scissorhands, Mary Poppins, My Fair Lady, South Pacific and Oliver!
