The Northeast Ohio Art Dealers Association has scheduled their first expo since the last one at Tower City 17 long years ago.
The event will be kicking off on Friday, April 20, at the former Museum of Contemporary Art located at 8501 Carnegie Ave. in Cleveland. The event begins with a reception and live music from 5 to 9pm.
Marcia Hall, gallery director at the Bonfoey Gallery, said, “We wanted to make people in the city aware of the amount of artwork and the quality of artwork that we carry in the city, that all these dealers represent.”
The three-day event will feature displays by a dozen commercial galleries from across Northeast Ohio, and will include classic photographs, contemporary art from the region and from around the country.
“We’re all really excited about it,” said Hall. “We think it’s going to be the event around town.”
Galleries participating in the expo include William Busta, Bonfoey, Tregoning & Co., Shaheen Modern and Contemporary, Kokoon, Kenneth Paul Lesko, 1point618, Thomas French, Harris-Stanton and Wach. Hours will continue through 5pm Sunday, April 22.
If the event is successful, Hall has high hopes that the expo can become a regular event.
“Hopefully we can do this once a year or every other year,” she said. “We’ll see how it takes off.”
