Local families had some summer fun at Oktoberfest once again at Altenheim and Shurmer Place in Strongsville last week.
The annual event celebrates the best in German culture, including food, entertainment and loads of fun games and activities for children. Residents spent all afternoon engaging in German culture and history.
A notable highlight of this year’s event was the Cleveland Society of Danube Swabians’ German Brass Band performance. The uplifting musical performance of the band matched the festive mood of the day perfectly.
The array of games played included a potato sack race and water balloon toss, while youngsters also enjoyed playing in an inflatable bounce house, having pony rides and witnessing a petting zoo that included a variety of farm animals courtesy of Spring Mist Farms in Brunswick.
The annual event is always looked forward to by residents in Strongsville, and this year’s offering did not disappoint.
