For a more historical place to stay, the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel, located at 24 Public Square, is a classic Cleveland icon. Built in 198, it features nicely appointed rooms, a pool and a luxurious gilded lobby, complete with marble fountain.
For good eats, a must-try is The Greenhouse Tavern, located at 2038 East Fourth Street. Delicious New American fare is served at this young, hip and happening establishment that promotes “green” thinking.
For one of downtown’s best Happy Hours, head to Houlihan’s, located at 230 W. Huron Road. This casual chain allows you to save your money for the slots and still eat big.
Other attractions in the area include Tower City Center Mall, a three-story indoor mall connected to the casino and Ritz-Carlton and Renaissance hotels, with multiple chain stores, food court and restaurants; Tower City Cinemas, a twelve-theater multiplex with 3D capabilities; and East bank of the Flats, a great place to take a riverside stroll on the Cuyahoga River’s east bank, just a few steps away from Tower City.
