On Sunday, September 22, hundreds of growers and foodies from various neighborhoods in Cleveland will gather for the Potluck in The Park. The event will take place from 4:30 to 7pm at the Dunham Tavern Museum located at 6709 Euclid Avenue in Cleveland. Guests are invited to bring a dish to share that makes use of at least one local ingredient, as the whole point of the potluck is to celebrate and promote locally grown produce.
Guests are also requested to use safe cooking methods during the preparation of their dishes, and to bring a list of ingredients, as this will be scanned during check in so as to prevent allergic reactions to common food allergens such as nuts, shellfish and seafood, wheat, dairy and meat. Participants may wish to bring recipe cards to share with fellow foodies and neighbors.
Lastly, guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland. Everyone is welcome, even if they are unable to bring a potluck dish to share.
Last year’s event saw almost 300 visitors come to Edgewater’s upper pavilion and share more than 150 dishes, while 120lbs of food was donated to the Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland. For more information on this event, please visit potluckinthepark2013.eventbrite.com.
