Harry Potter fans in Cleveland have something to look forward to next week as Potted Potter comes to town on Wednesday, January 30. Fully titled “Potted Potter, The Unauthorized Harry Experience – A Parody by Dan and Jeff,” this is a hilarious and action-packed show that condenses all seven books of the popular series into a 70-minute, Monty Python-like program.
Written and performed by two-time Olivier Award-nominated duo Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner, the show is coming straight from London’s West End to the PlayhouseSquare Center located at 1260 Euclid Avenue in Cleveland.
The show has been applauded by critics and is a definite crowd-pleaser, appealing to both die-hard fans of the series as well as the uninitiated, and attracting children and adults alike. Fans of the characters and universe brought to life by author J.K. Rowling will certainly enjoy the real life game of Quidditch featured in the show, as well as the good-naturedly irreverent humor. Potted Potter also features numerous costume changes, brilliant songs, ridiculous props and of course, a large dose of magic. Reviewers say this is a friendly way to introduce yourself to the series if you are not already a fan and want to see what all the fuss is about.
The show begins at 7:30pm on January 30 and again on January 31. Tickets cost from $10 to $40 and are available from PlayhouseSquare. For more information on the show, please visit pottedpotter.com.
