Cheese lovers rejoice, as the International Culinary Arts & Sciences Institute presents the Say Cheese! Festival on Saturday, October 12. The event will take place from 11am to 4pm at the institute located at 8700 Mayfield Road in Chesterland.
Visitors may join the faculty and students of the institute, along with their cheese industry sponsors and affiliates, for a fun-filled day of celebrating the art of cheese-making. They will also have the chance to learn more about cheese by attending educational seminars, cooking and cheese-making demonstrations, participating in sampling different cheeses and wine pairings, and helping to judge student Mac and Cheese and Cheesecake cooking competitions.
Live musical entertainment will be provided, and guests will be given the opportunity to collect literature on cheese, its manufacture, and its uses. Cheese samples will be provided from several national and local producers including Mayfield Road Creamery, Kokoborrego Cheese, Mackenzie Creamery, Yellow House Cheese and many more. Food tastings will be provided courtesy of Dante Boccuzzi, Catheryn Alaimo, Doug Katz, Rich Cunningham, Athens Food, Chef V, Brix Chocolates, and Paisley Farms.
Tickets cost $40 with $30 tax deductible as this is a fundraising event to benefit the ICASI Scholarship Fund, an independent 501(c) (3) corporation whose mission is to provide scholarship funds to deserving students who want to start a career in Culinary or Pastry Arts.
