Rock and roll enthusiasts in Strongsville rejoice, as the School of Rock Strongsville is now open.
Following its grand opening on Saturday, September 22, the School of Rock offers a variety of music lessons at its impressive new facility located at 16888 Pearl Road. It houses three private rooms for guitar and bass lessons, two private rooms for vocal and keyboard lessons, one drum, and two full rehearsal rooms. The school has a teaching staff of eight professional musicians and has no limit on the number of musically-inclined people to sign up for lessons.
Owner Shelly Norehad happily reports that the school’s grand opening was a success, and that they now have several people signed up for classes. The school already has its first all-student band gig tentatively lined up for January, where it will feature a set list of all AC/DC songs.
According to Strongsville City Councilman Joe DeMio, who helped 9-year-old Will Harding smash a Squier Stratocaster on the grand opening day, School of Rock is a great new asset to the city.
“This is a whole new venture for the city of Strongsville,” he said. “Along with Arts in Strongsville, the (Strongsville) Community Theater and the great choir at Strongsville High School, this will be another asset that, in my opinion, is going to take off.”
School of Rock Strongsville is open from 2 to 9pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and from 10am to 5pm on Saturdays. Free tours are offered at the school during these hours. You may sign up for a trial lesson by calling 440-572-ROLL (7655).
