Strongsville City Club's Annual Rib Burnoff turns 25

The Strongsville City Club held its 25th Annual Rib Burnoff at the City Commons from June 23 to 25. Referred to as “Not the Biggest…Just the Best,” the event featured the same world class BBQ and entertainment that regulars have come to expect, and that attracted over 20,000 attendees last year.

This year’s lineup of “prime ribbers” included Cowboys Barbeque and Rib Co. and Old Carolina Barbeque Company, who were the winners of the 2010 awards for “Judge’s Best Ribs” and “People’s Choice Best Ribs” respectively. Desperado’s BBQ and Rib Co., Hog Wild Barbeque and Armadillo’s Rib and BBQ Co. also participated in the event.

Apart from the delicious barbequed ribs, other traditional offerings included were roasted corn, fried vegetables, elephant ears, funnel cakes, frozen cheesecake, fried candy bars, ice cream, hand dipped corn doge  and freshly squeezed lemonade.

All three nights of the event featured live music from 6:30pm to 10:30pm, with Midnight Groove performing on the first night, Funkology on the second, and Under the Radar on the last night.

Winners were announced at 7:30pm on the 25th.
