Strongsville honored as one of Providence House's top supporters

Providence House, a crisis nursery in Cleveland, is celebrating its 30th anniversary, and in doing so will be honoring 30 of its most generous benefactors with Community Promise Awards. The city of Strongsville is one of these thirty honorees.

With a history of enthuastic support for the project, the city is recognized as a prominent pillar for Providence House.

Tova Weinberg of Providence House said, “The city of Strongsville has donated over $190,000 over the past 30 years. That represents one of the top 10 contributions, as far as local cities go.”

An important relationship has been formed between Providence House and the city over the years. When the organization’s volunteers speak at school district, local students are given the chance to learn more about the opportunities and realities around them.

A crisis nursery is an organization that provides resources for children during times of need. Youngsters are always welcomed at Providence House, from newborns to six year olds.

“We offer help to families for a variety of reasons, whether they’re facing medical or mental health problems…substance abuse issues…homelessness or domestic violence. We offer a place for the children while we work with the family to get the problem resolved,” explained Weinberg.

In a press release, Natalie Leek-Nelson, CEO and President of Providence House stated, “We are grateful to the residents and businesses of the city of Strongsville for the generous support and the commitment they have made to Providence House for the past three decades. The city of Strongsville has been a steadfast partner in our mission to protect children, empower fragile families, and build stronger, safer communities for every child.”
