The Greater Cleveland Aquarium located at 2000 Sycamore Street in Cleveland will be offering a chance for open water-certified scuba divers to swim with the sharks in the Aquarium’s exhibit starting Monday, October 1.
The Aquarium’s shark exhibit holds a whopping 230,000 gallons of water and more than 18 sharks of four different species, as well as other sea creatures. Visitors can expect to see nurse sharks, sand bar sharks, black nose sharks and sand tiger sharks up to seven feet long as they marvel over the massive shark tank.
Those who wish to dive with the sharks must be open water-certified scuba divers aged 15 years old older. Those between 15 and 17 must be accompanied by a supervising adult certified scuba diver. Reservations are now being accepted, and must be made at least two weeks in advance.
Diving hours are from 8 to 10am and 4 to 6pm on Sundays, and 4 to 6pm on Mondays. For more details, please visit www.greaterclevelandaquarium.com.
