Bring your favorite cuddly friend to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on Saturday, September 7 for Teddy Bear Day. Kids aged 2 to 11 will receive free admission to the zoo on that day if they bring a stuffed toy of any species and if they are accompanied by a paying adult.
Special Teddy Bear Day activities are scheduled on that day from 10am to 2pm, including complimentary teddy bear check-ups with “fuzzy physicians” who will award “Beary” Good Health Certificates. The Radio Disney team will also be on hand and a teddy bear parade will take place. At the UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital Safety Zone, children will get the chance to play doctor and learn how to stay safe from injuries.
Of course, the true stars of the day will be the Zoo’s bears, including grizzlies, North American black bears, Malayan sun bears, Andean bears, sloth bears and polar bears. Guests can learn more about how the Zoo takes care of its furry friends during Meet-the-Keeper sessions and will be encouraged to get more involved in the conservation of wild bear habitats.
The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is located at 3900 Wildlife Way in Cleveland and is open from 10am to 5p daily with hours extended to 7pm on weekends and holidays from Memorial Day through Labor Day. For more information on this and other Zoo events, please visit clemetzoo.com.
