As part of an upcoming North American concert tour, the Akron-born rock duo The Black Keys have booked a March 20 concert date at Quicken Loans Arena.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public today (Friday, December 9) at 10am at the Quicken Loans Arena Box Office, all Northern Ohio Discount Drug Marts and online at LiveNation.com.
Dan Auerbach who does vocals and guitars and drummer Patrick Carney are Akron Firestone High School graduates who started the Black Keys in 2001. Their latest album, “El Camino,” was released on Tuesday, December 6. The carrier single, “Lonely Boy,” has generated quite a buzz in rock and alternative circles.
The group’s last album, “Brothers,” was awarded the 2011 Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album, while a track on it called “Tighten Up” won the Grammy for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
The band is currently based in Nashville, and was recently nominated for a 2012 Grammy for their song “Dearest” on the “Rave On Buddy Holly” tribute album.
