The Cleveland Orchestra led by conductor James Feddeck will collaborate with the group Pink Martini for a special holiday celebration today (Wednesday, December 19 from 8 to 10pm) at Severance Hall.
Formed in 1994 by pianist Thomas Lauderdale, Pink Martini is a “little orchestra” hailing from Portland, Oregon. Drawing musical inspiration from all over the world, they seamlessly cross genres of classical, jazz and classic pop music. In their signature fashion, the band has come up with a globally-inclusive holiday concert for the 21st century.
The concert will showcase a multi-cultural repertoire of songs from cabaret to samba and jazz. Along with the respected Cleveland Orchestra, they will play popular favorites as well as holiday classics including “White Christmas,” “Little Drummer Boys, “Santa Baby” and “We Three Kings.”
Tickets range from $35 to $80 dollars and are available online at clevelandorchestra.com.
Severance Hall is located at 11001 Euclid Avenue in Cleveland.
