The Great Geauga County Fair kicks off today at 9am at the fairground at 14373 North Cheshire Street in Burton. The event is in celebration of the harvest season, and will feature lots of exhibits, rides, great food, fun activities and games, and live music and entertainment.
Some of the things to look out for are the Demolition Derby, Chicken Flying Contest, Horse Pulling, Apple Pie Day, Band-O-Rama, Truck Pull and US FMX Championship Series. Besides this, numerous exhibits will feature livestock, produce, decorate cakes, artwork by students, and local businesses.
The Great Geauga County Fair band will be performing in the Vernon Howard Pavilion, and local bands will be making music on small stages throughout the park.
The Fair will be especially fun for children, who may enjoy the carnival rides, as well as learn about animals such as bats and retriever dogs, or how to fish.
Whether you go for the music, art, exhibits, rides, food or even the freaky side shows, you are bound to find lots to interest and entertain you.
The Fair runs to Monday, September 3, with the fairgrounds open every day from 9am to midnight. Admission is 7$. For more information on discounts and a complete schedule of activities and events, please visit www.geaugafair.com.
