This month’s installment of Dinner in the Dark, hosted by Northeast Ohio chefs, will take place in Downtown Cleveland on Monday, June 17. If you enjoy vegetarian food and/or creative cuisine, then you definitely shouldn’t miss this event.
Brian Okin, chef and co-owner at Cork & Cleaver Social Kitchen in Broadview Heights, says, “People are always asking that we do more vegetarian meals. So this time for Dinner in the Dark, we’re doing a full meal.” Okin is one of the co-creators of Dinner in the Dark, along with chefs Jeff Jarrett of AMP 150 and Ellis Cooley, formerly of AMP 150.
Continuing in the tradition of past Dinner in the Dark events, almost all the details of this upcoming activity are being kept secret, thus keeping participants “in the dark.” Only the time and location are made known. This month’s installment will take place from 6:30 to 10pm at the Good to Go Cafe, located at 1360 East 9th Street in Downtown Cleveland.
While the participating chefs and the dishes they will be serving remain a mystery, guests can expect to be served a six-course supper prepared by an esteemed local chef. Food will be paired with an appropriate wine or cocktail.
Proceeds from Dinner in the Dark ticket sales will go towards a charity selected by the participating chefs. This month’s profits are geared towards Veggie U, an educational outreach program by the Chefs Garden in Huron. For more information on this event, please visit dinnerinthedark-gtgc.eventbrite.com.
