The induction ceremony will take place Saturday, April 14 next year at Public Auditorium in Cleveland. Performing inductees include Guns N’ Roses, the Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Donovan and Laura Nyro. Late bluesman Freddie King will be ushered in as an early influence. Don Kirshner, Tom Dowd, Glyn Johns and Cosimo Matassa will be inducted as well, but will not be performing.
This will be the third induction ceremony held in the Rock Hall’s hometown.
Nine days of tie-in events will be held before the inductions in Cleveland. These include the grand opening of the Rock Hall’s library and archives on Cuyahoga Community College’s Metropolitan Campus, a free “Concert for Cleveland,” and the launch of a new major exhibition. Details of these events will be announced later.
