“The Love We Make,” a documentary about Sir Paul McCartney that was shot in New York in 2001 after the 9/11 attacks, will be showing at the Cleveland Museum of Art this Friday at 7pm and on Sunday at 1:30pm. The documentary by film makers Bradley Kaplan and Albert Maysles chronicles the former Beatle’s journey as he organized an all-star benefit concert for the families of 9/11 victims.
Also playing at the Museum are:
Albert Nobbs – an odd tale about a woman who masqueraded as a man for over 30 years in order to make a living in late 19th-century Dublin. Starring Glenn Close and Janet McTeer, both of whom received Oscar nominations for their performances in this movie.
The Artist – a fun, silent, black-and-white throwback that celebrates the joys of cinema. Featuring Jean Dujardin and Berenice Bejo, both of whom are also Oscar-nominated.
The Descendants – a comedy-drama about a man who struggles to reconnect with his daughters while his wife is in a coma. Yet another Oscar contender, with George Clooney in his Best Actor-nominated performance.
The Iron Lady – starring the formidable Meryl Streep as the equally famous former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
The Vow – a romance drama about a man who tries to win back his wife’s love after a devastating car accident leaves her with no memory of him and their relationship. Sounds incredibly cheesy and far-fetched, but is actually based on a true story. Starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum.
The Cleveland Museum of Art is located at 11150 East Blvd.
