Due to insistent public demand, PlayhouseSquare is bringing back the award-winning musical Wicked as part of its KeyBank Broadway Series. The show will run from Friday, December 20 to Sunday, January 5 at the State Theatre, located at 1501 Euclid Avenue in Cleveland.

Wicked is one of Broadway’s biggest blockbusters and has won more than 50 major awards, including a Grammy and three Tony Awards. Described “a cultural phenomenon” by Variety and “the most complete—and completely satisfying—new musical in a long time” by USA Today, the musical tells the story of two girls who meet in the magical land of Oz long before Dorothy arrives from Kansas. One of the girls has emerald green skin and is smart, fierce and often misunderstood, while the other is beautiful, ambitious and popular. These two eventually grow up to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

Enjoy the wonderful performances and breath-taking musical numbers such as “Defying Gravity” and “For Good” this holiday season. Ticket prices range from $30 to $175 and are available online via www.playhousesquare.org. For more information, please visit the same or call (216) 771-4444.
